Breakfast:
Little pouch of flavored flakes to put on rice:It was seaweed and egg flavored.
Dessert:
We went over some Japanese emojis in class today and talked about other unique emojis. I don't think this one is Japanese, but one of my classmates mentioned it. It is a character kind of collapsed on the ground. the " :3 " is its face, the " ( ) " is its body, and the other lines are arms and legs. It takes a while to see, but I think it's pretty cute.
I had this bento and yogurt drink for lunch from the super market. The noodles were really cinnamon-y, and the yogurt drink was delicious but a little too much to drink all at once so I had to carry it around for a while. (Also, onigiri #20 and #21)
HIF's Tanabata Matsuri bamboo:
Because the weather was so great today, we had our IS meeting outside in the park behind HIF;. Afterwards, we all stopped by the melon pan shop!
I want to make melon pan at some point when I get back to Seattle. It turns out that it's basically just bread wrapped in a cookie.
One six-leaf clover and three more four-leaf clovers from outside city hall (shiyakusho = 市役所):
Also a liter of bitter green tea from 7-11:
Our speech presentations are tomorrow and I practiced a bunch yesterday and over the weekend, but still didn't have the whole thing memorized and down to time. The speech I wrote was about two and a half pages long, all in Japanese, and we had to have it completely memorized (no note cards) and had to be able to do it in under 3-4 minutes. I practiced from about 3:00 to 5:30 walking around in front of the city hall (with my liter of tea), and then for a few more hours in my room at home. I was able to get it down pretty well before going to bed, but then practiced again in the morning day to make sure I hadn't forgotten anything. Practicing my speech took up pretty much the rest of the day.
Dinner:
I got this gum at the supermarket when I got my lunch. They are kind of weird, but I really like them a lot. They are Cola flavored, but also kind of spicy somehow. It's really interesting. I want to get more, but haven't seen them again yet.
